moving sand bed filters
anyone know anything about moving sand bed filters. was messing around on youtube and saw them. was wondering any pros or cons. seem like they would work well. not having much luck on getting any info on them.

What's a sand bed filter? Can you define it a little for me please.

That's actually just a fluidized media reactor with fine sand in it. They are used in FW and serve pretty much the same purpose as bioballs in that they provide surface area for nitrifying bacteria to colonize. Given that most reef tanks don't have issues with excess ammonia, I don't think they will do much for you.
