Jebao for flow in a 180g SPS tank build

I'm upgrading to a 180g (72x24x24) soon. It will be an SPS dominate tank.

I'm looking at Jebao RW series for flow. I'm trying to decide between two RW-15s or two RW-20s. Does anyone have experience with these such that they could recommend which size is right?

I have 2 rw15s on a redsea reefer 350 which is a 48 inch tank and can't keep my sand in place, the are powerful pumps I have mine set on 3 for speed but probably should go to 2,I was actually thinking of switching for rw4s

I've been looking at the same two pumps for 125 gallon build in the near future. I would love to hear some opinions on this as well. The new jebao gyre pumps are pretty intriguing too.

gary504504... thanks for the info. a Reefer 350 is rated at 73 gallons and is 4' long. Red Sea rates at actual holding.. so on a 6' 180.. actual volume is probably around 160g. Do you thing at 50% longer and 100% more water volume that two rw-15s will do the trick?

I wish we could get some input from someone with a bit bigger tank.

I have RW-15's in a 180 (one per end) and they provide a lot of water movement. I'm supplementing mine just for more chaotic movement, I'd say two RW15's and the possibility of adding some smaller powerheads to add some alternate flow.

Awesome. Thanks Chris. I was concerned about the 20s being too much. Looks like the 15s will do the trick.. I'll take some smaller powerheads from my current tank running on a hydor wavemaker to mix it up.

If your going all SPS you need a lot of flow so id go with the 20's

I have two RW15s in a 120g. For 180g I'd go with the RW20s. I have mine set at 6. It took three days to a week, but the sand stops blowing around when it's where the powerheads want it. Now my fish just kick some sand up underneath my rock work and that just blows around for a second or so.

My tank is 72x18x30 and I have rw15 on one end and rw20 on the other. Should have gotten two rw20. I have them both going full blast on w1 setting meaning when one is running the other is off alternating this way they make a 3 inch wave and my all softy reef sways back and forth. I have very fine sand bed and it doesn't move very much, but it is a good 25" below the powerheads.

Thanks for all the feedback. I really want to grow a lot of sps so I guess I'm going with the 20s.

If going bare bottom do the RW-20's. I have an 8' long 240 and the 2 RW-20's will completely move all the sand out of the middle of the tank.

I just now got the Aqualink S1 wifi controls just to be able to turn them down to 45% so my sand will stay in place and not blow the tissue of my frogspawn.
