Rinsing chaeto?
The chaeto in my refugium is definitely helping keep the cyano at bay from the DT. However it's doing such a good job, that I think the chaeto is getting sufficated by it.
Is it safe to simply pull the chaeto out and rinse the cyano off it, then put it back into the refugium? |

Next time you do a water change, shake the chaeto around in the water you removed and then return it to the refugium.

Great idea! I think I'll add a small powerhead in the refugium as well. Currently it does not tumble at all.

Mine doesn't tumble. I just keep flipping the mass until it doesn't fit in the refugium any more then pull 90% of it out and start again.
