Help with Refugium setup in Biocube14

I have a Biocube 14 with an inTank media rack in the second chamber. I bought some cheeto to put in my rack and a magnetic light for the Cheeto for a refugium.
My question is, I put the cheeto in the middle spot on the media rack. Should I put anything in the other racks? Floss? Chempure?

Also, I originally had Floss, perigean and chempure in that order in my media rack. When I did this I removed the sponge between chamber 2 which housed the media rack and chamber 3 which housed the pump. It that ok now that I am turning the rack into a refugium?
Thanks for the advice in advance!

If it were me, I'd put filter floss on the top shelf so that your cheato doesn't become your "filter floss" so to speak - try to keep the extra gunk out of it. I'm sure it will still collect some, but with floss in there, you can trap out the worst of it and just replace floss with your regular maintenance.

When I asked inTank about the sponge in my setup (I have a 29) they said not to sweat it. My cheato has stayed healthy and has not flushed through that opening. I think where people get into trouble is when their cheato breaks down/apart and then in flows out and makes a mess.
