mh/t-5 combo in canopy
I have a dual metal halide/t-5 light I want to put over my 90 gallon.
The fans are on the ends and there is only a 1" on either side inside the canopy The back of the canopy is wide open and it is in frt of a window. Should I be fine if running the mh only for a few hrs, or should I mount some extra fan on the back of the canopy? The room is half under ground on a slab so it never gets warm down there. We live in a quad so the room is about 4 feet below the ground |

that's pretty close to the water, I used to run 2 - 175 watt mh, with 4 - 48" t5, never had a problem with heat over my 90, but my bulbs were around 8' of the water

Ok I have a lighting question. I am setting up a 90 gallon mixed reef and Im trying use what I have from past set ups or stuff I have picked up along the way.
I have a dual 250 watt mk/t5 fixture that i want to use as I feel the look of mh/t-5 is great. This issue is I have a canopy on my tank and the light will be right above the water. I know the t-5's will be ok but with the mh being so close will they bleach out or kill anything on the bottom of middle of the tank (coral wise) I mainly want to do everything except clams and sps but I wont rule out some sps down the road Now I also have a ecoxotic led I have 2 of these, I know I could use these but im not sure I would get deep enough penetration since it s 24" tank Should I just use the leds and maybe down the road add some retro fit t-5's into the canopy Thanks for any advice http://www.ecoxotic.com/panorama-marine-led-lights.html |
