Tip for Neptune WAV pumps users

For those of you who are using Neptune WAV pumps, especially if your tank and rocks are in early stage. Try using the "pipeline" mode in 0.25 second pulses on a high percentage of power, you will be surprised how much detritus will actually come out of your rocks. It is not the quietest mode but running it for a couple of hours every week or so will help clean the nooks in your rocks. Having filter socks would help collecting the detritus. Just be careful and start with a low power percentage as this mode is pretty powerful and the water can actually splash out of your tank.

Wow, that moves so much water. I will set my pumps to do this for about 5-10 mins a day. Great suggestion. On my tank since my Wav pumps are near the surface it does make quite a lot of splashing sounds but it did stir up tons of detritus from my rockwork.
