Refugium Light

Anyone ever use one of these as a refugium light? My fuge area is 12" x 12" in the sump.

If you are trying to grow macro algae like chaeto many members have had good success with red LED lights.

I've got one of the 20watt red/blue led lights for an ATS build. Will that be enough light for the refugium. I don't plan on having any chaeto just a light for live rock and pods.

honestly there is zero reason to run a fuge light just for live rock and pods. I don't even think the argument of keeping the pH balanced is even worthy to run a fuge light without any macro...if your going to run a light, DEF add some sort of macro algae. its only gonna help your system. and you would already be wasting the electricity by running the light. might as well grow something under that light, that will help your tank!!!

either no light,,,or,,,,light and macro

I will be running an ATS and I've read where it will out compete the macro causing it to eventually die.
