what could it be?
I noticed in a nook in the rock a small white fuzzy looking thing, kinda looks like a small cocoon. When I investigated further I saw more little fuzz ball looking ones around the tank.
Any ideas on this? |

Pineapple sponge perhaps? These are quite common in new tanks.

Is that bad? Do I need to do anything about them?
The one that looks like a cocoon has a tiny opening at the end of it. |

Most sponges are generally harmless, but there are some varieties that can smother your corals if left unchecked. I don't think this is what your dealing with though.
