My first setup, Week 5
Hi everyone! So I have always wanted to get into the hobby and was I getting into a BIG one! I am currently on week 5 of my tank. I have done 4 water cycles now (35-45%) if you exclude the initial one when I setup the tank.
My levels all seem to be in normal ranges right now. PH, Salinity 1.024-1.025, Nitrates are low. I haven't tested much else but plan to pick up some new equipment soon. I currently have 3 Hermit Crabs and 5 Snails in the tank so far. I ordered my liverock from Gulf Live Rock. It arrived on day 3 and I didn't have much die off really, (I lost 2 muscles.) I do however think I have Aiptasia Anemone popping up. I'm planning to pick up a Peppermint Shrimp on Friday. Tell me what you think and feel free to help me identify the critters I have in my tank and any suggestions/tips! Thanks! http://imgur.com/BMACxei http://imgur.com/CvakhrU http://imgur.com/swhUehs http://imgur.com/0sbT2uG http://imgur.com/TOxUBPn http://imgur.com/9RQCu93 http://imgur.com/A7inkd3 Feather Duster http://imgur.com/a/iaYeA Tiny little sponge starting, hes covered in sand a bit. http://imgur.com/fuRCCNS The enemy... I think. Aiptasia Anemone http://imgur.com/YSdujvf Muscle http://imgur.com/cGkKNVN My sand gets displaced a bit by the strong current in this tank. http://imgur.com/z70nHEb slight above middle there is a critter with a round mouth in a hole. He looks kinda mean and I can't tell anything about him except that he opens his mouth up and it looks like he has teeth. Also I've seen a few Bristle worms at times, something that looks like a millipede, and a little bug resembling a tiny water beetle but I've only seen him once. After I flipped the light on he bailed into the rocks. My aquarium is the Biocube 14g and it has 3 options for LED lights. |
