Worth buying a used Spectrapure Maxcap 180 with booster pump
Do you think 2 year old Spectrapure Maxcap 180 with booster pump is worth buying for $150-$200?
It needs new resin. apparently the membranes and filters were changed about 4 months ago but they may need to be replaced depending on the TDS readings. |

Is this it? If so, I'd pick it up at $150 to $175. From what I see on Amazon the thing retailed for $349 and booster pumps seem to run about $100. Resin is cheap aa are filters. Membranes usually last at least a year.

yup...that's the one...i have 2 membranes that are still packaged from almost 2 years ago and never used. but they are 75gpd filmtec membranes...think they would still work ok in this unit?...so i would get 150gpd instead of 180gpd...

I can't speak to Spectrapure inits but I changed out the membrane on my BRS RO/DI unit from 50 to 75 gallons and they were both the same size. My gut tells me that all membranes are the same size and fit otherwise there wouldn't be standardization in the market. Much like any manufacturers filters are the same height and diameter I think membranes are the same way. You could always call BRS or Spectrapure to confirm though.
