Maxima Clam with a Big Gape?
THere were 2 (8 inch) Maxima clams are my LFS, the one i got had a bigger gape in the mouth compared to the other one. I figured this was okay since the other one didnt show it's mouth at all and this one looked better.
I asked people around, someone said that THEIRS often get that big but should be fine as long as it doesnt get any bigger and it becomes non responsive. As of today, i think it got a bit bigger, about the size of an adult thumb, he's still very VERY responsive with shutting close when i my hand by. Any ideas? Will he be good? I recently added phyplankton and Coral frenzy so that he would be a bit happier. Calcium is at 440. Thanks in advance |

Clam in the picture is not 'gaping'; indeed, looks just fine to me. Gaping is when the inhalant opening is stretched very wide.
