Are you dosing ammonia to .25 every day?

I haven't dosed anything other than phantom feeding som mysis and pellets. My amonia stays stable at 0,25. Don't understand. So I was hoping if I added a fish like a salarias may be my amonia would rise and no2 and 3 bacteria would develop as we go along. The parameters looks stable?

Did you start with live rock or dry rock. If it was dry, I don't think the cycle has even started, there just hasn't been enough decay to build up the ammonia levels. If it was live it may have had enough bacteria on it already to prevent a cycle. I would dose the tank with enough pure ammonia (without surfactants) to raise the ammonia to 2ppm. Once that ammonia and subsequent nitrites drop to zero the cycle is complete. What test kit are you using? If it is an API the ammonia readings are probably zero not 0.25, their test kits routinely show 0.25 when no ammonia is present.

Hi! I've used live rock and live sand. Using salifert test kit. I have fed this tank more over the last three weeks, than I have my stocked 90 gallon the last 3 months. Don't seem to change the amonia anything.

Salifert has never had the false positive from my experience with them.
