Biocube lighting

Hi guys!!

I have an biocube 29 with stock lighting. I understand that you can't get affordable lights that are GREAT quality but if anyone can recommend lights for my tank I'd really appreciate it! Looking to spend no more than 200 and I just want something simple easy and that is at least better quality than my stock lights. Any ideas ? Thank you!!

take off the top of the BioCube (the pins slide out) and replace lights with this...

You can use a couple of cheap timers to control white and blue channels separately.

Rapid LED makes a nice product. Very easy to install and the guys at Rapid are very helpful.

Come on down to the nano dedicated forum and have a look at the thousands of threads with this same question.

I have the rapidled retrofit kit and it is fantastic. My biocube is 29g mostly sps and if I pay attention to my chemistry and general tank quality, I get excellent coloration. Speaking which, with the rapidled retrofit kits you can also swap out LEDs of different colors to modify the tanks spectrum. Once the retrofit is up and running, changing out LEDs take a few minutes. Slightly longer than turning the knob on a kessil, but much cheaper, infinitely customizable, including upgrading/replacing full LEDs as new more efficient models come out, and you will learn a lot about lighting and electricity from building it.

What stock lighting is with that Biocube 29 gallon? Is it with the PCs or the MH 150 watt?

If it is the Coralife 150 watt metal halide, stick with it and just replace the bulb with a better one.

It will be great for coral growth and give you better shimmer vs LEDs.
