Rimless Tank Light Mounts in Water
I bought just the tank mounts from an aquatic life halo to use on my rimless frag tank. I was thinking of using one on each side and creating a bridge with 3/4" conduit.
[/URL] My water level in my frag tank is 1" below the top of the tank, these mounts when fixed on the side acrylic sit in the water about an inch. They look like they are painted aluminum, is it ok for them to sit in the water permanently? I could also attach them to the back external overflow, where the water level isnt that high and they would be out of the water, but i would do two 90 degree bends to the middle of the tank instead of a bridge

I have the same mount, I believe it's anodized aluminum. Been in my tank for 7 months, it's been just fine. I pull it loose and wipe it off every 3 or 4 months, just to keep it free of salt creep.

Nope, it's not paint, it's anodized. It'll scrape off, if you try hard enough, but it's not water soluble.
