Durso modification

quick question when drilling a hole thru the top cap and inserting airline tubing with a shut off valve, how far in does the tubing go? Does it stay out of the water or do you insert it far enough in so it enters the water?

you will likely have to play with it a bit to get the position just right.

the end inside the pipe should be more or less underwater though. how far will depend on how the durso is flowing, so leave enough slack that you can adjust it. usually a few inches of adjustment is more than enough.

Doesn't need to be inserted very far, but you can play with it.

ok drilled bigger hole. and inserted airtube made the dursos nice and quiet but now have crazy sound in the sump where water enters out of the drains. Any way to quiet that down some?

Try turning down the return pump a little. That will usually help quiet the drain.

Also, having the drain piping go below the waterline in the sump can help (If it's not already like that.)
