Hi just got a red sea max 130d but find the skimmer so loud. pumps go's ok in the water but when i place it all in the back of the tank it gets very loud.

It has to be touching something. If it's on the bottom you can put some egg crate or a bio pad to separate

if i take the pump out it and start it up you can hear it rattling. in the water ok. its when it fixed to the skimmer it becomes very loud

I use the rubber on the bottom of mouse pads under my pumps to quiet them.
