Corals don't "sting" fish do they?

Frogspawn, hammers, etc...?

all corals have the potential to sting because this is how they catch food, but it would be very un-likely to affect a fish unless it was extremely sick.

well, although they are supposed to be immune to the stings of anemones I've had clownfish try to host with various lps including elegance, torches and hammers which have over time darkened because of the sting. IN case you don't believe me, wHen I removed the lps they lightened up again.

some corals do sting fish. that's why clownfish often get hyper melanization for hosting some corals like frogspawn, hammer, etc.

My naked clown has black spots from using a dragon soul favia as a host. He just randomly lays on top of the coral throughout the day.

IV seen coral eat fish. Not in any of my tanks but it can happen.

I had a clown kill a hammer colony trying to get the hammer to host. It did this after its nem walked in to a power head.

My clown has lived in a Duncan coral for years and hasn't gotten darker. Of course it is a black and white clown already.
