white stuff always being blown around
Hi Guys
So I have a little problem. In my aquarium I always see tiny white particles like tiny bits of sand or detritus blowing around all the time. Like hundreds or particles blowing around. I can't get that crystal clear water I see at my lfs in there display tanks and stuff I see online. I run everything in my tank I have 250 micron filter socks, protein skimmer, gfo carbon, uv etc. I'm thinking is my flow too much? I have a 2-3" aragonite sandbed. I have a 90 gallon reefer 450 using 2 mp40 on reefcrest at 65% antisync. Could this be the issue? I also have a 250g with same sandbed and don't have this problem with that tank. my tanks been running almost 5 months now. Any tips would help |

Flow could definitely be an issue. You'll just have to experiment a little and see what works. What kind of fish/invertebrates do you have in the tank? Sometimes these will kick up the dust so to say. Are you dosing anything? Precipitate is another possibility. GL.
