Please help identify this Algae???
75 Gallon mixed reef tank..about 10 months old now. I am running a skimmer and active carbon in a reactor. over the past couple months i have had this gross looking stringy algae in the tank.. its mostly on the glass and rocks... there is none on my sandbed. I am not sure if they are dinos or not since there is no air bubbles in them... when i scoop them out they kind of break apart and get mushy. they look light brown.. i do a pwc atleast every two weeks.... Nitrates are around 10-15... phosphates are not readable on the red sea kit... here are some photos..This is driving me insane...thank you..

Actually
It's mostly on the back glass. It is very soft. Blows right off with a baster. I can clean the glass and next day it's back. I'm not sure what to do but I'm ready to give up.

I had that kind of stuff. Kind of browny green. It just goes away. Try taking the carbon off and do a couple extra wc over a month. Mine was gross. Then gone in a day

That looks that the crap that's been plaguing a few of us on here.
The concensus so far is it is a form of cyano. Water changes, and/or carbon dosing has helped. Vinegar dosing totally starved mine out. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh....php?t=2574467

I bought an icecap doser for around 80 bucks. It works great and doses 3mls a day for me 24hrs a day.
