Sump refugium question
I have a 10g sump with a refugium section. It has some rubble rock and Chaeto in it. I am lighting it on a reverse schedule and the Chaeto is growing great. But I'm getting quite a bit of algae growth on the sump walls and dividers. At least it's not in the DT.
I was thinking about putting an Astrea snail in the refugium to clean up some of the algae on the glass. Is this a good or bad idea? BTW the snail won't be able to get out of the fuge. I have some media grates in the bubble traps in the sump and it is too big to fit through them. |

adding a CUC in the sump fuge is fine. I have a few crabs and snails in mine to help out.

I would just let the algae run wild down there. Adding a snail or two is fine, but there not really going to do much for you. If you want the refuge clean, clean it. It should only take you a couple minutes or so to run a sponge across the glass/baffles.
