Red Sea Max S 650
I'm very close to getting a Max S 650.. I haven't had a tank now for 4 - 5 years and am very keen to get another one going.. I've only had about 2 years experience with salt water but had fresh for years. My last tank broke and is why I don't have one now. Any suggestions? I want a tank that doesn't need upgrades and would be keen to know what people think of the Red Sea tanks or if there is anything better I should consider

I have an S-650 and E-260 both with the hydra LED's. The S-650 is still a superior tank compared to the E-260 both are great ... but the S650 certainly outdoes the E-260

I have a S-650. Beautiful tank and setup. The only thing that I don't like is the sump is a bit small for my liking.

I very very much want a redsea max series. They are a pretty good bang for the buck, and you can do a ton of simple customization with them.
Plus the footprint they offer is highly desirable, deep wide and tall. Perfect for a corner or plain wall. My next tank will be a cube of some sort. I have priced out building my own, and it's cheaper to just buy a manufactured one. Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk |

The S series is really nice, especially now with the LEDs. However, I find their sumps and ATO chambers quite small when compared to display volume.

I was looking at the S-650 also...
The things I don't like about it are that it comes in a kit - and you have to spend almost an entire day putting it together - especially the stand. And, I don't like their sump (and skimmer). I wish they would sell it without the sump - but it appears they wont. |

S650
I've had this tank for 12 weeks and am quite happy. Upgraded to the LED Hydras after 8 weeks, no complaints.
