Based on the ratings
I used the recirculating version of that skimmer since February and love it. The recirculating skimmer was harder to tune but once I got it dialed it it worked fine.
Because I needed more space in my sump, I just ordered the SM163 DC skimmer.

The sk204, SM163 and the sm162 recirculating all seem to be rated for a 120 heavy stocked tank. I oversized a little because I am overstocked and I feed heavy to help mitigate aggression.

Thanks for your reply. Just one question for you. Is the skimmer quiet?

It was the same level of noise as the vertex omega 150 I was running before.

I really find that noise is relative to everyone. I want my tank as quiet as possible and what I consider a racket is dead silent to someone else.

Noise also depends on if your skimmer is touching the sides of your sump and if you have a wood stand which amplifies noise.
