Advice needed on equipment for a 200g build
So I recently pickEd up a 200g tank to upgrade from a 90g.
My 90g originally had a DIY 20g sump but I purchased a custom 40ish gallon sump for it this year. My question is this, is the 40g sump big enough? The sump was built with 2 1inch drains. Some of the other equipment I'll be using in it is: - Vectra L1 return pump into a manifold - deltec 1456 internal skimmer rated for 250g that was for the 90g but I got a External MRC mr4 (600g)to use with the 200g tank. Would the deltec be enough or is it better to way overskim Sump pics |

I have a 240 with a 60 gallon sump that is just big enough. As when I have a power outage the sump can hold all the water that drains from the DT.
Since you don't need internal space for skimmer then this might do. Also I would add a separate fuge. |

So you're saying the sump is good if I use the external skimmer. |

As long as it hold the water drainage when the power is off then yes should be OK. Of coarse the bigger the sump and more total water volume is always best, but it could do.
Even with the scrubber I always add a fudge. Ever since I have been running a deep sand bed fuge I have had less than 10 nitrate, and way more pods in the system. |
