Any tips on cleaning a Red Sea max 250's filter chambers?

Hello,

Curious if anyone had any experience or any tips or methods for cleaning the filter/pump chambers.

I would have written it on the red-sea page but to be honest the replies can take a while so I thought I'd try my luck here.

I'm wondering how often I should clean them and if I should scrub them and then aqua vac them out? Or is this even an issue with red sea tanks?

Thank you for your help/tips <3

I'd clean the filter material regularly as it gets dirty and holds a lot of detritus. As for the stuff on the bottom of the sump, most people clean it out once in a great while. Some do it regularly and others (like me) rarely do it at all if ever. Seems to me Randy Holmes Farley told us he never vacuumed the bottom of his sump.
