1" supply line or Modular hose

Has anyone ever heard of someone using modular hose instead of PVC for the return line (from pump in sump to Display Tank?)

http://www.modularhose.com/Loc-Line-34-System/34-kits

was considering it, but I think it would be more expensive and reduce flow due to size being 3/4"..

otherwise I am re-plumbing with 1" pvc

I use it in my sump. I have it on the last 10" of my reactor returns.
In my opinion use pvc. Even if your return was 3/4" PVC I would think you would get better flow with the PVC. I say this because in my opinion the increasing and decreasing ID of the lock line over the length of your return would be much more turbulent. Therefore reducing flow. Also as an obsevation my reactor returns are always covered in a ton of salt creep. Whether it is from evaporation in the sump or a tiny amount leaking out between the joints I am not sure.

I use Spa-Flex for my return line. It's basically the hose they use for spa's and hot tubs. I got a killer deal on 25ft of 1" for $25.00 in black. It usually is around close to $2.00 a ft and can be used in pvc pipe fittings. I know a lot of people will say use pvc cause it's cheaper. I like it cause from my return pump to my return that I only have 1 -90.

Spaflex is nice for returns..
It will reduce the vibrations transferred from the pump too..

i use spaflex too. Is locline even watertight? Like, I'm not sure I'd trust locline to be water tight enough to use it outside of a body of water.
