Sump/Refugium build
Hello,
I plan on building a sump/refugium for my 75g, I can use a 20L tank, would this be sufficient? also does anyone have any specs that you would suggest I need about a 8-10" space for the protein skimmer. I would also need to put a sock on it? Any advice appreciated. |

I personally say if your stuck with a small area that can only fit a 20L, go with either a 29 or a 37 tank for your sump. they are the same dimensions just taller then a 20L. and with saltwater more is better. so I personally would rather the biggest tank I could under a 75. hell id go get a 40B from Petco during the $1 per gallon sale. that would most likely be the best sump for a 75g display. 20L yes its better then nothing, but overall that's rather small for a 75g. again if your still in the planning stages, I would think about maximizing my sump size and look into a 40B. also socks aren't needed by anymeans, but they are a cheap part of the filtration and do filter out particles in the water, ive ran them for 15+ yrs now.. just some food for that, hope I atleast encouraged you to research some more...
