MarsAqua 300w LED
Hey guys this is just an update/idea/questionnaire thread. I posted up a thread awhile ago in the large tanks section about lighting and using several of these lights. My large tank is on the back burner for the time being so I thought I would replace the very dim dual single T5 lights that came with the 55g Aqueon 55g set up. I have had this tank up and running for about a month and a half. About 3 weeks in the right side bulb blew on the T5 fixture hence the algae on the left and not the right. I did this install last night and I was considering putting a clam and some corals in this. This would be my very first time dealing with corals so I was thinking something beginner level like zoas. This tank has 1 sailfin tang, 3 chromis, 1 damsel, 2 sea horses, a few snails and 3 emerald crabs. I started the light off on the absolute lowest settings and will leave it like this for at least two weeks.
Out of the box I was very impressed with the amount of light it produced. I was planning on getting 10 of these for my large tank but may only do 8 because of the amount that they put out. As far as a clam and the zoas go. How much higher on the light intensity should I go? How do I know if its not enough or too little? I will be adding a gyre 150 to this tank too as its just waiting for the other tank to get done. |
