Hydor Smart Level Controller
Hi all! I recently purchased the Hydor Smart Level Controller and was super excited to finally have an ATO. However, the pump I purchased must be too slow because I keep having the alarm go off. I am looking for an external pump.... Anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you! |

The pump needs to take between 25 seconds and 10 minutes to go from minimum to full. I use an aqualifter but it will depend on how much water you need to flow within that time frame.

Hi Potatohead.... I actually have an aqualifter. I have not measured, but I'm thinking it's approximately 1 gallon needed.

Aqualifter is about 4 gph so it would take roughly 15 minutes to pump a gallon depending on a few factors. Ideally you like find something between 10 and 50 gph.

It's probably easiest to get a small pump like an MJ400 or Sicce Micra and put a ball valve on the output side to control the flow rate.
