Help me create good flow in my custom built tank

Hello!

I am new to the saltwater world. I am in the final stages of building my completely custom 50 gal tank. I am 'cooking' my rock and have started cycling the tank (with just the sand) so that it'll be ready around the same time the rock is done. I'll eventually be getting corals too.

I have been reading like crazy and have one part of my tank I just can't seem to find a good solution for... flow. My tank is 8ft x 1ft x 1ft so its shallow and short front-to-back. I have two Maxijet 900's that seem to work decently but they have to be pointed pretty much parallel to the tank or they blow sand away from the front glass. Since the tank is only 12" front-to-back I don't want a 3-4" powerhead taking up 1/3 of it either. The Maxijets are a nice small size.

- I saw a Tunze 106 that was real tiny that I could probably get 3-4 of.
- The EHEIM Stream On+ 2000 looks to be pretty small but powerful too.
- I'd love an Vortex MP10 but I think it will just blow sand all over since it would point 90 degress to the tank. (are there aftermarket intank attachments that might help?)

What do you fine folks think? Any suggestions for me? Pic for visual reference

P.S. I am completely new to this so if I say something thats wrong feel free to correct me.
