Looks like a coral to me, something like a Favia.

Any info on the care for something like this? It was completely white when I got it so i thought it was dead but now it has green centers and is turning brown. I believe it has gotten about 25% bigger than when I purchased the rock

They can be quite hardy. I would check in the LPS forum section on the conditions this particular coral may like.
Though the fact that it grows and colors up indicates that it is pretty much happy with what you have right now.
