Salt question

Has anyone use Tropic Marin zoo mix salt? If so what are your thoughts on it? Does your corals like the salt? I've been searching this brand salt for a bit, however found really old threads that did not help much. A LFS near me has switched salts and I am thinking about switching mine as well. It's a little bit more expensive but in this hobby I have learned you get what you pay for. So what are the levels the zoo mix has to offer? I know the pro and classic etc it is listed on the site, but I can not find information on this mix. Thank you in advance!

Exactly like our Classic Sea Salt Mix specially designed for commercial use ONLY. This is the product sold to Zoos and Aquariums around the world. The only difference between this and the Classic Salt Mix is the magnesium in this mix is in the form of a small flake. Otherwise the mix dissolves exactly like and is indistinguishable from our Classic Salt Mix.

If the mag is in there as flakes then I'd tend to only want to use this for large batches of water where I could use the whole container. Otherwise you run the risk that it settles and you end up with some batches super high in May and some batches with almost none.

my friend uses it and one batch his mag was super high, around 1580. so maybe the settling did have an effect. we went to a fish show and told him about it and he told us impossible because there salt runs much lower than that. we told him 3 reefers with 3 different test kits all got his mag in the tank that high, we all cant be messing up on the test. but he still using the salt and his levels have come down. he likes the salt not issues but i find it too expensive for my taste.

Smile Tropic Marin salt version.

@ Vorog, Could you possibly let me know what store you are able to purchase the Zoo Mix salt in? The Zoo Mix is the Tropic Marin store use only salt and is not meant for resale. I will contact the store and help to straighten out the misunderstanding.
Thanks
