Aquamaxx Skimmer

Why would my skimmer not be producing as many bubbles as it use to? I checked the airline tube and all looks good there.

I would take the pump apart and clean it and see if that helps.

Are we talking bubbles or foam?? If the amount of dissolved organics are low in relation to the size of your skimmer, the smimmer may not produce foam consistently. Instead, the bubbles will rise quickly and burst at the surface due to a lack of sufficient proteins to create enough foam to fill the neck. As such, if your skimmer is too large for the display or load, that could be the root cause. Changes in salinity can also impact the quality of bubbles and or foam as can feeding habits.
