Dosing Cal and Alk via Siphon?

I have watched videos about dosing Kalk through auto top offs or with a drip created by a siphon. Can this be done with Calcium and Alk instead of purchasing a dosing pump?

Sure it can be done but will be difficult to control with any accuracy.

Theoretically could be accomplished.

1. Get something to adjust the drops in the line (like an airline valve).

2. A stopwatch.

3. Something to measure volume, like a measuring cup (or ideally a graduated cylinder).

Adjusting the drips would be the toughest part.
