New apex is garbage don't trust it.

So this will be my third time having problems such as this with my new apex. I an not new to Neptune. I have owned every model they have came out with from the original aqua controller. This newest model is garbage. On vacation and thought I would check my tank values, apex says it is disconnected. I send someone over to check on my tank and everything is malfunction. The DOS dropped 1 gal of alk and cal each into my display abs my lights and pumps are shurting off and on every 6 seconds. What a piece of crap. I will never trust my system with neptune again. This has cost me thousands in coal and fish. Don't even think I will continue with the hobby after this. I doubt neptune will stand behind their product. Don't trust your new apex

Shane

damn.. sorry to hear.

I think APEX is a great unit to monitor. lot of things you can see while you travel. But it should not be the only device to control everything. for example I control temperature through Ranco controller. I left return pump off the APEX incase the controller malfunctions.

I bought my APEX gold system just before the release of the NEW unit. I am very pleased with it and has worked flawlessly, with out error or fail of any kind.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the new unit, I hope and I'm sure that Neptune will have it worked out, at some point. I would suggest getting the older system if you are able.

There were also some issues with the other models when they were first released, it's typical of new products. Sorry for your loss.

this is why i wait for awhile to buy new versions. just because its new and improved does not always mean better. sometimes it comes down to "if it isn't broke, don't fix it".

I don't like early versions of things either, though I did 'take a flyer' on the GHL Doser 2 when it first came out. Sorry to hear about losses like this.

I bought mine just before the new unit came out. I was at first a little disappointed but I like the way the old one looks, and sounds like I might have dodged a bullet! Sorry to hear about your loss though!

sucks all modules now come with the new look. Got another PM2 and it's the ugly grey brick. won't match any of my older ones.
