Can Jebao RW4 outside tank magnet be mounted under water???

I'm wondering if the magnet that is mounted on the outside of the tank for the Jabeo RW4 can actually be mounted under water if I'm mounting it to the back wall of my Red Sea 130 and that magnet is actually in the back compartment which is filled with salt water?

I'm wondering if this may contaminate the water in some way since it is likely NOT designed to be under water.

Thanks, Doug

I have heard of people putting the magnet in a ziplock or vacuum sealed bag first to prevent it from leaching anything into the water.
