JNS Sk2 Pump died (short circuited) - Need new 220V one
So I have a JNS sk2 skimmer that was performing very well till a month a ago where it stopped working.
Now the pump is 110v and I live in the middle east so I have to use a 110V-220V convertor. I thought that was the problem (transformer died) as it used to make a sound and smoke when I started it after coming back from vacation (was wondering why it wasnt working when my bro tried). Anyways, through an electrician I found out that the root cause was the pump - it short circuited and I think it was because the impeller got stuck and doesnt rotate. So long story short, I need the pump replaced. Can I just buy a Sicce 2.0 pump, put in the aquamaxx/jns impeller (new bought online) and fire it up with the stand, volute and other tubes from the old pump? Will it be ok? I would like to get the sicce pump from here as it will be 220v and then do all this. Or do I have to buy the whole kit from JNS? Also, is there any skimmer pump that would be reliable and match this skimmer? Thank you.
