When I get my cube going, this is what I have in mind. I like the large overhang, which preserves some sand area.

That is taken from the 2nd post of....

I didn't actually answer your question in the PM (I think it was you who sent me the message)

Anyway, its a 5x2x2 system. Made by a company here in the UK. I made the cabinet myself.

Nice every one. love seeing what ppl come up with.
I did do a re-scape its a lot better took out one of the large pices of TBS LR and took a hammer and chisel and broke it in to 5 pieces..still not where I like it tho might add some tonga branch of shelf to the mix..

FLsharkvictim I do have a SC tank the 90. love it. if you do go with SC I would suggest spending a lil extra and get external overflows or C2C might not be bad on the bigger tanks but on a 3' tank the overflow box really messes with your scape as it pretty big and right in the middle.

i'll see if I can find some pics of before and after..

A couple of points. You have 2 really big pieces of LR. If they are too big, have you considered breaking them in half or even smaller pieces? It's not hard.

And I get my LR off the sand on platforms of egg crate set on PVC legs so the egg crate is an inch or two above the sand. I get water flow under the LR so more bacteria space and sponge space and more open sand for wrasses, sea stars, sea cucumbers... whatever.

I just set up this new tank and did it to look like one big island that split in half with a narrow gap between them. I also wanted to get the top of the island (at least on one side) near the water surface.

The pvc pipe in the side of the island will get 'hidden' by adding some rubble around the pipe as I get the time.
