How many yellow tang for 1000GL tank

I am setting up a 1000GL tank and I plan to have multiple small yellow tang along with other tangs in it. My plan is to introduce multiple small yellow tang then other tangs. My question is how many yellow tang (3 or 5) should I introduce first? I will also stock also each of the following tangs in order:

Kole yellow eye tang
Orange spine naso tang
Hippo tang
Sailfin tang
Powder blue tang

What other tang can be recommended to mix with these and how many small yellow tangs can I add first?

I don't see a problem with any number below half a dozen initially. You will want to add a diverse age range though with some large and if you can find them one or two that are sexually mature, 5+ years old.

Small Tangs will grow to become big Tangs. I QT 3 Yellow Tangs together and introduced them to my 325g DT together, and they never stopped sparing among themselves. One of them has been confined to one corner by the other two.

You have 4 large Tangs on your list. I don't think your 250g tank is big enough for all of them.

That's a lot of tang for a 250 gallon. How long is it? I think your order of introduction looks good. I'd probably add the trio of yellows with the sailfin.

Adding three different sizes would probably be wise. I added a trio of yellows to a 480 and two never accepted the third. The two did live harmoniously together, though, along with a sailfin and naso and other larger predatory fish.

I don't understand the "250 gallon" comments. The title and first line both mention 1000GL, which I would assume gallons and not liters.

I think 3 or 5 would be fine, although you will probably still witness some sparring to establish a hierarchy. Tim's suggestion might help with that.

I think you are already overstocked with tangs but if you are set on a yellow I definitely would not try more than one.

Corrected. Nice tang loadout for a 1000 gallon 10 footer. Since the tank can handle the bioload, I'd go with more yellows - like at least six. Get a nice shoal going. With that many yellows, any aggression will be more spread out so one individual fish is less likely to be hammered by the aggressor. Same concept as with cichlids!

Is my link broken?

If so, it goes to a thread about the (same?) tank, which is 10'x3'x4'

Ten feet long.
Four feet wide.
Three feet tall.

Without going to a tank volume calculator I'm going to go with gallons.

Thanks for the link nereefpat. Confirms 1,000 gallon. I'll be honest it threw me off seeing OP from Indonesia made me think metric which made me think 1,000 GIGAliters.... (1,000,000,000,000 LITERS)

Got it. Thanks. In that case I would go with a min of 5 and do not do a even number.

Wow, that is a massive tank. 1,000 Giga Liters could house a tang or two

Gal = gallon

Personally I'd skip the kole and get a two spot. Not nearly as common, cheap, and looks cool.

Other than that I'd maybe skip the multiples and get a purple in the mix.
