look what happened to coral after feeding

is this normal? i fed my coral with mashed meaty fish foot. shortly thereafter the coral head started to swell.

Very normal. It just opened up and is sticking out its tentacles to get the food that might still be around.

I will say though that the color looks off. I'm glad you are feeding it because it sure looks like it needs it. Maybe it is the lighting but that looks really bleached. Try keeping it under lower lighting while feeding once or twice a week and see if it starts to color up again.

They come in all different shades

Looks fine, probably a picture under white only lights. I do that sometimes because the blue lights wreak havoc on the iPhone camera.
