Mp 60 and 40

Have a question about these. How long do they normally last. See people selling them used What do I have to look at. Never had one before getting 2 new mp60 on Monday. Any advice on how to make them last longer. Does running them full cut down there life

Check the date on the back of the remote, pull off the cover of the dry side to inspect the any water damage. Then take apart the wetside and spin the propeller to make sure its not worn out and scrapping.

Then power both up and test. They can last forever, just the remote and wetside always need replacing after time, bearings mite go on the dryside but its replaceable. And running at higher speed is fine, mite get warm, not sure about the mp60 i think they have better cooling.

I have the mp40 for a year or so now an it works like a charm still. I run less that 50% on reef crest. What I read during my research on this forum is to not run max level all the time since it may cut the life of the pump down. This is why I went one level up in size than what I really needed so I could run on lower level and for my future upgrade.
