Kessil A80 Reviews (or impressions)
My old 150 is buzzing like a hornets nest, and I'm toying with getting the A80. It would be going over my 30L QT that only really needs relatively low light most of the time and a small bright zone when I'm quarantining a coral or two.
Would love to hear a few hands on impressions of this light. I've got a few 360s and a whole lot of 160s, but even the latter is too much for this tank.

I think OSeymore has one on his kid's tank. Might want to search through his threads for comments.

I have 5 A80's, each over a 10 gallon aquarium. Build quality is top notch! The change in color spectrum is awesome and they are quite powerful. I currently have some montipora spongodes that seem very happy underneath the lights which are currently set at 100%.

As I said, it's just for a QT tank. Mostly just fish, though possibly a coral frag or two. I can always elevate the latter to be right under the A80. Did you find it to be not very bright?

It is only 15 watts, so it is simply limited in irradiance power, but for your needs it should be fine.

Absent any detailed reviews, I bought one. It's bigger than I thought, though a quick read of the specs would have recalibrated my expectations. Throws a good 12x12 light spread at acceptable intensity to grow most stuff to about a similar 12" depth. Not much beyond that. It will function just fine over my QT.
