GFO Reactor Recommendations

I'm looking for a good GFO reactor to install in the cabinet of my RedSea Reefer 250 (55gal display).
Currently I'm just running a reef octopus skimmer down there besides the ATO, filter socks, and return pump.

What's a good out of the box reactor I can mount outside of the sump?

Precision marine, mrc, geo, vertex... They all make good reactors.

I have absolutely zero room on all 4 sides of the sump, and VERY limited room inside the sump. I'd like to hang something on the left wall with a pump that drops down into the sump

Don't mind my "notes". They're for the wife when she does water changes while I'm out of the country.

This pump should be small enough to tuck beside your skimmer and the return line could drop right back in.

I'm using this on a 90g and it seems to be sufficient.

I have been using the Two Little Fishies reactor for 2 years now and it has been doing a great job, no complaints. I am using the Cobalt 600MJ pump with it.

I run my 2 Little Fishies reactor off the feed line for the skimmer with the supplied valve.

Interesting.. Feed line? My skimmer is submerged in the sump so I don't think this will be an option for me

The good thing about the D-D is you can hang it inside and outside the sump... from your pics u could probably hang it inside and have the pump drop down into the sump... I'll try get a pic of mine... although my sump is not as neat as yours, and I don't have any notes

My skimmer runs from the return line, no separate pump.

It looks like virtually identical design (copy).

I have the TLF and I have been wanting to spend some money on reactors but I just can't bring myself to because it works totally fine.

I have both and can say for sure the AquaMaxx is a lot better.

No screw on top and rubber barbs.. night and day difference. For what it's worth, just seems to tumble better as well.

I use a two lil fishes. Its cheap but works ok. Just make sure to regulate the flow.if its too high all the gfo can be forced out. I had a cup of gfo in my sump the day after i changed media one time.it was a pain to get it out.

i use an innovative marine mini-max and find it to be pretty meh. one thing i really dislike about it is that i have to remove the entire reactor to change the media as it requires a lot of head space to be able to remove the media chamber.

also, assuming you're using it in a sump it should be considered that unless it's in a fairly deep section it will be the loudest device in there. however, if the water level is high (+10 inches) it's almost silent... that's what she said... sorry i had to add that lol.
