My build
Here's yet another build. Maybe you'll watch, maybe not, but I've never done a build thread and I think it'll be fun to document. So here we go!
I currently have a biocube 29 that's been set up 3 years or so now. It's cool, and it's stable, but I wish there was more room. My wife and I are going to be buying an acreage next year or the year after and I will have the foundation poured to support the dream 300+ but that's for another thread. The b29 is a mixture of lps, sps, and softies. Each got addd during a different phase. I'm leaning towards the new tank being a pure sps tank but I haven't quite decided. Part of the reason I'm doing the tank is for more room for fish and more fish means more nutrients. That is tbd. The n29 just had three fish in it, a black and white damsel, a pajama cardinal and a 6 line. So I have a history of keeping a tank running so that's step 1. Now I have to decide on specifics. Here's what I know: I have to get the tank. I'll prob run to petco since their $/gallon sale is going on in my area. I need to build a stand for it. I think I'm going to build a combination stand that can hold the tank and our cable boxes, PS4, etc.. the reason for this because I have a brick wall that our tv is on by the wiring is less ham desireable and there's boxes all on the floor. If I build a stand that can accommodate this then the tank will be able to stay in my living room where I see it most instead of in my basement. The 29 needs to move since it's where I want the new one to go. It will either be sold or turn into a frag tank. I need to buy equipment. I currently have an apex jr and all the modules I need for the new tank which is nice but I need skimmer, pumps, and lights. Oh so now I realize I need to build the sump. I would really like to do a 40 sump but I can't wrap my head around putting a 40 under a 40 without the stand looking bulky. We will see what happens here. Well that's it for. I'll start work on designing the stand and we'll go from there! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
