just a normal bristle worm - it's a detritus eater and you shouldn't need to take it out.

Bristleworm. They look a little creepy, but they're actually good cleaners.

Ya i accidentally grabbed on in my sump and my fingers swelled up like hot dogs. Use tweezers or hemostats. They come out after lights out. I hunt them with a small flashlight. There are bristleworm traps you can buy, and you can find plans to make one out of pvc, or a small container.

If you ever do encounter him with your fingers.

It will win.

Go grab some vinegar and have a good soak. All should be well afterward.

No vinegar is required for broken links.

When I find them and can get them, I feed them to my carpet anemone.

Actually if you ever get stung use tap, duct or packaging to try to pull any stingers out. Then a good long vinager soak.
