Need help with identifying this lime green coral
The LFS had it next to (not infront of) a cyphastrea sign. but it doesnt look like cyphastrea to me.
Maybe a green digitata monti? not sure... What do you guys think? Thanks |

Looks like montipora spongodes to me. Or an Undata, Confusa, or even digitata though digitata are usually thinner with more dense polyps. Most likely spongodes. They're very colorful and cool corals.

Maybe from the ridges it looks more like M. Confusa? Not sure. Did you do some googling of the names I posted?

In my opinion:
Not digitata since it has more side extension than actual branches. I had discarded confusa based on this image: ... and was tinking about Spongodes based on this picture: But ur image of the confusa got me thinking again.... |

It's most likely spongodes since it's a pretty prolific grower and regularly available in the hobby. And sometimes, you just never find out, and that's okay too! They also change shape and form based on specific flow and light patterns, so that triples the complexity of identifying them.
The care for them all is the same anyway so I wouldn't sweat it. |

Will call it Spongodes for now and yeah, regardless the name, I really like this one. Looks beautiful in the tank.
I've read some people dont like it cause it grows too fast but that is not an issue for me, at least not now... hehe Thank you! |
