Help with ID of pest algae

Hi.

I have a small fuge with caulerpa. Over the past month or two a red colored algae has started to grow over and kill my caulerpa. It does form bubbles of gas and causes the strands of caulerpa to float. It has gotten to the point now that almost all my caulerpa is dead.

I threw a few snails in there and they seem to control it where it is on the rocks and walls but they don't have much luck with the stuff that is growing on the caulerpa.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Cyanobacteria.. a bacteria not an algae

I assume thats a pic when it first started and is worse now right?

Siphon it out, 3 days lights out, siphon more <--non chemical means hit or miss.. can work but it can/will come back
use chemiclean or red slime remover per the directions <--chemical means but basically always works

Thanks for the reply! Funny thing is - the cyanosis only in the fuge. Not a trace of it in my display tank.

That can certainly happen..
cyano grows where it wants to and where conditions are right for it..
