Suggestions for learning more
I have a 29 gal FOWLR tank running a fluval 206 for a little over a year. I've got a maroon clownfish, lawnmower blenny, purple dottyback, BTA and a few hermit crabs. My parameters are as follows: S.G. 1.023, pH 7.8, ammonia .25 ppm, nitrite 0 ppm, nitrate 10 ppm. I really enjoy the tank and would like to start aquascaping with a few soft corals. I know that I need to bring the pH up and the nitrates down, as well as invest in better lighting and a protein skimmer. This isn't something I'm rushing into. I'd really like to get my hands on a few good books and websites to really get prepared first. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be grateful
Thank you, Melanie |

You will also not want to force your pH around. That is usually due to something like not running a skimmer. look into testing for Mg Ca dKH and that will help you control the pH along with the new skimmer.

In addition to this website, I would strongly suggest that you spend a few hours (or days) at www.wetwebmedia.com It is certainly the most comprehensive site I am aware of that covers all aspects of marine, brackish, and freshwater aquaria.
