Yellow/ green water in quarantine tanks
I have several quarantine tanks that were cycled for over 45 days and the water is looking yellowish green. My guess is they are high in dissovled organic matter. The fish in there are eating and happy and no ammonia and Nitrite presents. Nitrate is on the high side around w5-50ppm. The fish are all feeding and active. I am running chloroquine diphosphate in the QT tanks. The new fish are around 3 weeks old now in the QT tansk.
I am kind of afraid to change water to prevent cross contamination of ich or velvet. Will the dissolved organic matter affect fish health? Is it safe to keep the fish in the same water for another few more weeks before I move them into display? |
