How big is your tank? Instead of using a trap you might want to go the High & Dry route outlined in the link below.

I used the aquamedic to get a wrasse out that seemed to turn nasty overnight... Worked great! But don't expect to catch them on the first day... They are smart enough to know something is up... I put mine in and left it in for a week or so...Placing food in the trap to entice them... They didnt even have a sniff at first... After a few days they became curious and started investigating... I still didn't pull the trap cos they would wizz in and out... After about a week or so they became used to it and would go in and out at ease... That's when u pull the trigger!! Gotcha sucker!!!

The aquamedic worked for me too. $$ but worth the cost.

Put the net behind them and then guide them in with the hand of God...

The shape and size of your fish will affect how well this works, but you can try the plastic bottle trick. Cut a hole just big enough for the fish to go through in tn the top, then cut that end off and turn it around a jam it back inside... bait and wait.

I've had good luck just dropping food in at one corner and sneaking up with a large net when the feeding frenzy starts. I do have a trap as well but I haven't had to use it.
