What to buy
I currently have an original APEX controller with the 8 port energy bar.
The display screen broke and i'm currently having trouble getting the controller to connect to my wifi even when I run a ethernet cable strait from my cable router to the controller. A new display screen is around 100$ and an APEX Jr is around 200$ All of my probes work fine as far as I know and the controller is still doing what I originally programmed it to do. Maybe I should upgrade to the new Jr? buy an old Jr and just use the 4 port energy bar and screen? What do you guys suggest would be the best bang for my buck? I also don't want to spend a lot of time trouble shooting why the APEX is not able to be discovered when I connect it directly to my router.I'm going to try another router and see what happens but I don't think it's something worth spending hours on when I could find a solution for around 100 bucks.

Nope. You can't hook a Apex Jr to an Apex Classic and have them run together. Each one has their own brains, and the two won't work together.
As far as the display is concerned, I'd just get a replacement. Sounds like you've already thrown in the towel on the network issue, but I doubt a change in router will fix it. Thinking once you get a display working again, you can check the network settings and find an obvious problem. |

I think you're best off troubleshooting the network issue. A display isn't required, although it is convenient.
Your next troubleshooting method should be to connect your Apex directly to your laptop and try to access it that way. The only catch would be if you set a static IP and don't remember what it was, but you could IP scan for that if you had to. Did you have a static IP set? |
